Peter Applebee
Director
Peter’s Banking career starting back in 1986 with Westpac Bank. Over the years Peter worked his way through the ranks which meant moving and working all over NSW. In the later stages of his career with Westpac Peter worked in the large Agribusiness Portfolio at Moree and then went on to manage the Agribusiness Portfolio at Tamworth.
After leaving Westpac in 2003 Peter moved to Queensland and joined Suncorp as Agribusiness Manager at Dalby and was promoted later that year to District Manager. In 2007 Peter transferred to Toowoomba as District Manager and also Manager of a diverse agribusiness portfolio that was to become the largest Agribusiness book for Suncorp in Australia. In 2009 Peter was promoted into the Regional Managers role for Suncorp South West Queensland.
In 2011 Peter left Suncorp and become a member of another Agribusiness Consulting Firm based in Toowoomba and become a 50% partner later that year.
May 2015 Peter branched out on his own to form “Toowoomba Mortgage Brokers”. Over the past 17 years Peter and his wife, Kristi, have also owned and operated a number of motels in the Toowoomba and Dalby region.
Ken Wilcock
Mortgage Broker
Ken has been a finance broker and member of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia for the past three years.
He took on the finance-broker role as a semi-retirement interest following on from a long and diverse career including business banking, senior executive roles in the livestock and meat industry, a lengthy period of livestock and property agency activity and overlaying that with 10 years of wool growing experience in the Stanthorpe/Texas district.
In his business banking years Ken managed a diverse portfolio of agribusiness, commercial and property-investment lending at Tier 1 and 2 level. The agribusiness component included fruit and vegetable growing, cattle, sheep and wool, intensive pig and poultry production, grain and irrigated fodder cropping.
As well as providing finance broking services, Ken maintains a connection with Queensland Country Life newspaper as a market-analyst columnist. The articles he writes draw on over 30 years of experience in the livestock and meat business.
Ken also holds a Degree in Commerce from University of Queensland.
